Oregon Field Coordinator Job Opening Announcement

We are searching for an Oregon Field Coordinator. I am resigning as of 12.31.2006. The following is the job description. This is a full time position with benefits. If you are interested please follow the instructions below.

Oregon Field Coordinator--JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
Work under the supervision of the Director of Chapters to support and build the chapter network, volunteer programs and membership within the state by the following:

  • Coordinate the statewide efforts of chapters within the region
  • Grow statewide membership
  • Facilitate and train local chapters volunteers in campaign planning and program implementation.
  • Represent Surfrider Foundation at administrative hearings and other public events.
  • Facilitate the needs of the chapters with direct assistance.
  • Assist with national and regional campaign planning and regional implementation and coordination of campaigns.
  • Work with the regional chapters to develop & implement realistic regional funding opportunities/plans.
  • In conjunction with the Director of Development, develop and maintain positive relations with regional funding community.
  • Collaborate with the Oregon Policy Coordinator on joint issues, campaigns and relative grant deliverables.
  • Coordinate the chapter-volunteer based water quality monitoring program.

Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates who have the desire and skills to work on exciting and demanding grassroots organizing issues. Candidates must be goal-oriented with leadership skills, organizing experience and project management with an emphasis on direct action organizing techniques and implementation. Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work independently and follow national work plans under the guidance of Director of Chapters; Ability to travel regularly throughout the state and willingness to work a flexible schedule. Candidates need to be team players, able to recruit, train and motivate a wide range of people.

This is a full-time position based in the State of Oregon with medical benefits; long-term disability insurance and 401 K Plan with partial employer matching.
