THE POLITICS OF SAND

'The Politics of Sand,' a new documentary by Oregon filmaker Tom Olsen, tells the incredible story of how the dark forces of private development were defeated to permanantly protect Oregons ocean beaches for public use and enjoyment. It is an inspiring story that every Oregonian should know well and share with others (see photo: Gov. Tom McCall). After all, Oregon Governor Oswald West once declared Oregons ocean beaches the states 'great birthright' and all of us are now the stewards of this important legacy. The film is now available for sale at the Cannon Beach History Center, amazon.com, and filmbaby.com. The exhibit component to the film will be featured at the Cannon Beach History Center through December 2009. Finally, a screening is being planned in Newport sometime around Earth Day (April 2009). Details will be posted on event calendar. To learn more about the film click here.
