We wanted to give a huge shout out to our friends and partners at 10Barrel Brewing Co. who decided to make their 10th anniversary a fundraiser for 7 Oregon non-profits including our Newport Chapter! They raised $21k total, $3k of which went directly to our Newport crew to support their ocean protection programs, Blue Water Task Force program, beach cleanups, Rise Above Plastics education and youth events like the 10th annual Otter Rock n' Roll youth surf competition!
Our long-time chapter leader Laura Neary lead the Newport Chapter representation at the event and had these words of appreciation for the 10Barrel crew, "Waves of thanks 10 Barrel Brewing for 'Sharing the love' and including the Surfrider Foundation in your 10 year anniversary celebration. It was a wonderful day of positive energy, great conversations with interested Ocean and Earth lovers about the need to reduce plastic in our lives, tasty beer, and rocking music."
10Barrel Brewing Co. also has signed on to be title sponsor of our Clean Water Classic Surf Competition for the second year in a row! Huge thanks for putting your money where you mouth is and helping protect the northwest's ocean, waves and beaches!
