Be independent of trashed beaches this 4th!

From our Surfrider family to yours, wishing you a happy and healthy Independence Day! Remember to stay classy and dispose of any fireworks appropriately, what's left behind will eventually make it's way out into the ocean and turn into marine debris. Just a reminder, it is against Oregon Parks and Recreation Department rules to light fireworks on the beach, so please show your beach a little love and respect:) Help us cleanup the day after messes at these great chapter cleanups...

Unfortunately, not everyone follows the rules, so the good folks from our Newport and Coos Bay Chapters have organized a couple of cleanup events to help keep popular recreation areas in their communities clean, come on down and lend a hand if you can!
