Clean Water Classic Registration Open!

The 13th annual Clean Water Classic surfing competition will take place October 3rd -5th, 2014. This event, the largest continuously run Pro/Am competition in the Pacific Northwest, will take place in Westport, Washington. The event is a fundraiser for the Pacific Northwest Chapters of the Surfrider Foundation and a great opportunity for surfers to compete and chapters from across the PNW to network and outreach on their campaigns and programs to thousands of recreational users. art_web
The Clean Water Classic weekend includes not only great surfing, but also live music, movie showings, a vendor village, silent auction and raffle. This fun family friendly event attracts thousands of spectators and competitors from all over the world.

The 2014 Clean Water Classic will include a Kid's Surf Camp for area youth run by Warm Current, a non-profit organization whose mission is to teach, inspire and support under-served communities and youth through surfing. To assist Warm Current in providing access to ocean recreation for kids in WA, OR and around the world, contest attendees are asked to bring new or used wetsuits for donation to the event.

As a founding member of the Newport, OR Chapter, Charlie has greatly advanced our mission through ocean conservation as the Oregon Policy Manager. He’s led a critical role in ocean protection through strategic engagement of our Oregon chapter network in policy initiatives, grassroots campaigns and community-based projects. With a BS in Marine Biology and as a member of the Oregon Ocean Policy Advisory Council, Charlie’s ties to the ocean reach far beyond the Surfrider Foundation. He enjoys surfing, fly-fishing and loves cheese biscuits.
