This February 12th at the Oregon State Capitol, Surfrider Foundation is leading the Oregon Ocean Alliance for a "Love Your Ocean" lobby day and we need you! We will be meeting with legislators to advocate on key priorities to protect Oregon's coast and ocean. This year, Surfrider is taking the lead for the coalition and joined by seven other amazing conservation organizations within the Alliance. We provide all the resources, scheduling and lobby captains to and help guide our small group meetings with individual legislators.
Surfrider Foundation is also hosting a "Lunch & Learn" to improve ocean literacy amongst legislators and staff as well as better network them with subject matter experts on arising ocean issues and interests in Salem. Quite simply, we want to ensure that leaders in Salem have good context and contacts for various ocean efforts.

As a founding member of the Newport, OR Chapter, Charlie has greatly advanced our mission through ocean conservation as the Oregon Policy Manager. He’s led a critical role in ocean protection through strategic engagement of our Oregon chapter network in policy initiatives, grassroots campaigns and community-based projects. With a BS in Marine Biology and as a member of the Oregon Ocean Policy Advisory Council, Charlie’s ties to the ocean reach far beyond the Surfrider Foundation. He enjoys surfing, fly-fishing and loves cheese biscuits.
