State of the Coast Conference: October 25th

This year's State of the Coast Conference, sponsored by Oregon Sea Grant, is set for October 25th from 8am-6pm at the Florence Events Center with a great line-up of speakers, including keynote Paul Greenberg. The one day conference includes informative talks on current marine science and policy: Ocean Acidification and Oysters, Sea Star Wasting Syndrome, Coastal Energy, Local Food on the Coast, Hazards planning and more! From seafood cooking demos to student research presentations and hands-on learning opportunities, there's something here for any coastal enthusiast!

As a founding member of the Newport, OR Chapter, Charlie has greatly advanced our mission through ocean conservation as the Oregon Policy Manager. He’s led a critical role in ocean protection through strategic engagement of our Oregon chapter network in policy initiatives, grassroots campaigns and community-based projects. With a BS in Marine Biology and as a member of the Oregon Ocean Policy Advisory Council, Charlie’s ties to the ocean reach far beyond the Surfrider Foundation. He enjoys surfing, fly-fishing and loves cheese biscuits.
