Meet our New Oregon Coastal Organizer

We have a new team member! Meet Anna Greenberg, Oregon Coastal Organizer. Anna will be part of the Surfrider Oregon crew for the next 6 months providing extra support for our volunteers to get civically engaged.

Anna received her Master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning from the University of Oregon in 2019. Working towards healthy communities and environments, her emphasis was always on best practices for equitable and inclusive decision making. Her terminal project focused on local and state solutions to the growing plastics crisis. Through her research, she was able to connect with several individuals and organizations that partner with Surfrider to work towards a plastic free environment!

Since graduating from Harvard University in 2007 with a degree in Visual and Environmental studies, Anna has spent most of her career as an outdoor educator and guide. Her work took her up and down the West Coast, teaching students of all ages about natural history, outdoor living, and environmental stewardship.  Her greatest oceanic experiences come from years teaching kids about snorkeling and marine biology on Catalina Island and two seasons spent sea kayak guiding in the San Juan Islands.

Having grown up surrounded by politics in Washington, DC, Anna spent her adult life exploring the wild wonders of the West. It is fitting that she is now getting back into the policy realm, but this time from her new farm within reach of her favorite ocean, river, and mountain playgrounds. She is thrilled to join the Surfrider community!
